Missing Cat, AGAIN!

I had to go on the hunt for my cat Corky, AGAIN. She escaped a few weeks ago and I was in a panic because I didn't get her sterilized yet. She was constantly crying at the door to get out and finally snuck through and made her big escape. It wasn't until after her escape that I realized she is in heat! Crap!

I heard her cry from the other side of my wall, but it was getting dark and I couldn't see her. Ted climbed up onto the wall and started walking across to see if he could spot her. I took off on my motorbike to find the street to the house on the other side of the wall. Simple right? Not in Indonesia....the house that is literally right next to my house requires me to drive out and around and down a totally different street.

Here's the wall behind the pool...she climbed up the tree in the garden and off she went!

I start knocking on doors showing pictures of Corky while Ted is talking to neighbors from atop the wall. We became quite a spectacle and the whole neighborhood came out to see what was going on! We find her with the help of the home owners, but can't get to her because it's now dark and she's hiding back in the bushes of someone's property. I give them my number and to make a long story short, my pembantu got her back the next day. What a way to be introduced to my neighbors...

Fast forward to today.....
Corky is now sterilized and I have been slowly letting her out. I hate that she is stuck in the bedroom, but she's so tiny and I worry about her because she's able to get out of my property area since the living room and dining area is outdoors. She was pretty good about staying in the yard area lately and coming back. WAS is the key word.

Yesterday evening I let her out. She ran around, chased and tried to eat a gecko, and relaxed in the garden. She seemed content so I went inside. When I went to bed she was no where in sight. Well, at least she has a little collar on now and is sterilized, I thought!  In the morning I hear her crying and realize she is on the other side of the wall stuck in someone's outdoor shower area. It would be easier if it was the SAME house as last time, but no she chose to fall into the house next door. I climbed onto the wall and saw her looking up and crying at me. Seriously? She can't climb seem to climb back up the small tree that she must have just slid down.

I decide to go about my day and hope she can figure out a way to get out. Hours later...she's still there. I drive back over to the street like I did last time and start guessing which house it could be. There are villas all tucked beside and behind each other.  I met a very nice woman who spoke no English. (I really need to start learning Indonesian!) Through the help of modern technology..aka google translate...and miming I was able to explain the problem. We checked her house. Nope wrong one. She then had to call the owner of the house next door. He had to drive over and unlock the house for me because it's a rental and no one is living there. We walk around to the back of the property and there's Corky! She's now grounded and staying inside until further notice!
Looking guilty!!
