Facing the Motorbike Fear!
Before moving to Bali, my friend Mary and I discussed what my life would be like in Bali. We imagined I would wear my bikini under my work clothes, cruise out of school on my motorbike and head straight for the beach. Well....I'm halfway to that goal!
I've always been scared of motorcycles and had no desire to driver or ride on them...and then I moved to Bali. The first few months here I rode to work and into town on my bicycle. Although I was petrified, I started riding on the back of my boyfriend's motorcycle and realize that it was actually okay. I enjoyed the wind in my hair....
Hip surgery was coming up in December so I knew getting a motorbike would help me get around better than the bicycle. So I "sucked it up" and decided it was time to learn to drive one.
I'm so glad I did because I feel so much more independent! I started off super slow by just riding up and down my alley, then down the street and finally to school. I have since had the nerve to start to drive into the city of Denpasar and down the Bypass. :)
Loving my little Scoopy!
