Going backwards....Trips from September to October 2014 - Part 1
Ok, So I have returned from my long 6 week break and just began the second semester at school. I am going to try and write more this semester...
Because I am a Type A list-making planner, I cannot move forward before I update from the first semester. I will keep it short and just include a few pictures of my travels during the first semester.
September 2014 - Canela
Day trip up to a small town called Canela (In Portuguese this means cinnamon) with my friend Jess. We were looking forward to seeing the waterfalls and hiking a bit. We learned there was not much area to hike, but we ended up having quite a memorable day.
While walking down the road we became terrified of this area with dogs. There was a small shack on one side with 2 dogs chained up. Then across the street up on the hill were at least 15 other dogs all chained up and ferociously growling at us.
After leaving the frightening dog area, we walked up another street and encountered a dancing penguin at this ice castle. We sat down and finished off our wine bottle that we had bought a few minutes back at the store. (We asked them to open the bottle for us and they even gave us two plastic cups for drinking...so classy!) We took some pictures and I taught the penguin a few dance moves...
October 2014 - Rio de Janeiro and Buzios
I love Rio...what can I say! Buzios is a beach town a few hours from Rio. It had a cute town with lots of shops and restaurants, but it was too busy of a beach for my liking.

Got my picture with a famous stuntman who is a friend of a friend....He lived in the Pocono Mountains for a short time years ago! What a small world!
Buzios:
