A Visit Home
School was out for summer and I was headed home for 4 weeks to visit family and friends! It had been a year since I was home and I was looking forward to spending 4 weeks this time... 2 weeks always seems so short. I had a chance to catch up with many friends, had lots of family time and ate some delicious food!
I definitely did experience a bit of culture shock going back though. All the media and advertisements were overwhelming since I have no cable in Bali and don't get bombarded with ads. Stores were a bit overwhelming too as I'm not used to so many choices! All in all it was a great visit but I was also very happy to return to Bali! :)
Family time begins with...cousins reunited!
More family time....
Evening walks around my parent's neighborhood...so peaceful!
NYC for the day with my mom....
relaxing in Central Park before going to see The Color Purple
No visit back to the States would be complete without visiting a local carnival, drinking beer, eating funnel cake, and singing and dancing as the teenagers look at you like you've lost your mind!
More friends time....didn't get to catch up with everyone, but I'll try again next year!
The Canadian has arrived!
Ted's whirlwind 3 day trip....from Syracuse to 4th of July family picnic to being tourists in Philly...
Oh how I missed having delicious flavorful beer! I was blissfully overwhelmed by all my choices! Bingtang and San Miguel Light just aren't cutting it!
Farewell at the airport...until next year!
